Description
GHRP-6 5mg is a 5mg vial of GHRP-6, a synthetic growth hormone releasing hexapeptide, supplied by Blue Sky Peptide as freeze-dried powder. This batch tested at 98.59% purity. It’s intended for lab research only.
What is GHRP-6?
GHRP-6 is a six-amino-acid synthetic peptide, His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, from Cyril Bowers’ work in the early 1980s. It was one of the first growth hormone releasing peptides, and it was studied years before ghrelin, the hormone it mimics, was found in 1999.
It’s best known for two things: a clear GH release and a strong jump in appetite. That appetite effect is why it’s still a common tool in feeding research.
How GHRP-6 acts in the lab
GHRP-6 activates GHS-R1a in the pituitary and hypothalamus. That releases GH directly and also boosts the effect of GHRH while holding back somatostatin.
The same receptor sits in the brain’s appetite centers, which explains the hunger effect. GHRP-6 also binds CD36, a receptor on heart and blood vessel cells, which is the basis for the cardiac studies.

What the research says about GHRP-6
Bowers and colleagues described its GH-releasing effect in 1984, and it became the reference compound for the receptor later named GHS-R1a.
Animal studies since then have looked at GHRP-6 in heart muscle protection and in gut and liver injury models, separate from its effect on GH.

How GHRP-6 compares
Labs choosing GHRP-6 5mg usually weigh it against a few close relatives. GHRP-6 releases GH and strongly raises appetite, the classic tool for feeding research, while:
- GHRP-2 is the strongest GH releaser of the original GHRPs, with a milder appetite effect than GHRP-6
- Hexarelin is a very potent GHRP that also binds CD36 on heart cells
- Ipamorelin is the most selective ghrelin-receptor peptide, with little effect on cortisol or prolactin
All four act on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). They differ in strength, in side signals like cortisol, prolactin and appetite, and in how quickly the response fades. See them all on our growth hormone peptides page.
How to reconstitute GHRP-6 5mg
The volume of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 5mg:
- 1mL of water gives 5mg/mL
- 2mL of water gives 2.5mg/mL
- 3mL of water gives 1.67mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.
Use sterile bacteriostatic water. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature first so no condensation gets in, add the water slowly along the glass wall, and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.
Storing GHRP-6 5mg
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
Vials are small and easy to knock over or misplace. Our vial storage case and hard storage box each hold ten, so a whole study’s worth stays together.
GHRP-6 5mg purity and testing
Our GHRP-6 5mg batch measured 98.59% pure by HPLC with mass spectrometry confirming the identity. We print the real number, so you know what’s going into your experiment.
Every vial is labeled with the compound, the amount and the batch. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, email us the batch number from the label and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for it.
If a result looks off, check the batch number first, then your handling notes. Most problems with GHRP-6 come from storage or mixing, not the material.
GHRP-6 5mg quantity deals
You can buy GHRP-6 5mg one vial at a time, take the free-vial deal or order in bulk. The options in the dropdown are:
- 1 vial: $29.87
- Buy 1 get 1 free: 2 vials for $29.87
- Bulk 50 pack: 50 vials for $747.50, about $14.95 a vial
