Description
The Blue Sky hard storage box is a rugged, latching plastic case with a foam insert that holds ten peptide vials upright. It’s built for transport and crowded freezers, where a soft case can get crushed, and it’s $14.99.
Why a hard storage box?
Glass vials survive a lot, but not everything. A bag in the back of a shared freezer gets squashed under other boxes, and a vial dropped on a tiled floor rarely makes it. A hard shell with a latch takes those knocks so the vials don’t.
The box closes with a single orange latch, and the sides are ridged so it’s easy to grip. Inside, a foam bed holds ten vials in two rows of five, so they can’t touch or tip over.
Hard storage box features
- Ten-vial foam insert, two rows of five
- Rigid plastic shell with a snap latch
- Ridged sides for grip, Blue Sky logo on the lid
- Fits standard 2mL to 3mL peptide vials
- Vials not included
When to use the hard box
It’s the one to pick when vials are moving: from the freezer to the bench, between rooms or between sites. It also suits shared freezers, where boxes get stacked and you want something that won’t cave in.
For everyday fridge storage, the lighter vial storage case with its zip and mesh pocket is often more convenient. Plenty of labs keep both: the soft case for vials in use, the hard box for the backup stock.
Good storage habits
Keep sealed freeze-dried vials in the freezer at -20°C, or in the fridge for shorter stretches, away from light. Mixed vials stay in the fridge and should be used within about four weeks. Label each slot or each vial with the compound and the date, and let the box warm up before you open it after it’s been in the freezer, which keeps condensation off the labels.
What fits inside
The slots take our standard vials, such as TB-500 5mg, CJC-1295 DAC 2mg or a BPC-157 TB-500 blend. A ten-vial peptide bundle fills it exactly. Our 30mL liquid bottles are too tall for the insert.
Carrying vials safely
When vials have to travel, cold and knocks are the two things to manage. The box handles the knocks. For the cold, put the closed box inside an insulated bag with a cold pack for short trips, and don’t let the cold pack touch the vials directly. Freeze-dried powder copes well with short spells at room temperature, but mixed vials should go straight back in the fridge.
A hard storage box also helps when a study changes hands. Everything for that study sits in one labeled box, in the same slots, so whoever picks it up can see at a glance what’s been used and what’s still sealed. That matters more than it sounds in a lab where several people share one freezer.
Label the outside of the hard storage box with what’s inside and the date it was packed. If it ends up in someone else’s freezer or a shared cold room, the next person will know not to move it.
Looking after the box
Wipe the inside with a damp cloth if anything spills, and let the foam dry fully before you put vials back in. Check the latch now and then; a box that won’t close properly gives much less protection. Kept clean and dry, the box lasts for years of use.
