Description

TB-500 2mg from Blue Sky Peptide is 2mg of TB-500 in a sealed glass vial. TB-500 is a 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein. This batch tested at 99.92% purity. It’s sold for laboratory research only.

TB-500 (thymosin beta-4) at a glance

TB-500 here means thymosin beta-4, a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell in the body, with high levels in platelets and white blood cells. Inside the cell it binds actin, the protein cells use to change shape and move.

Our vials hold the full-length 43-residue sequence, acetylated at the N-terminus like the natural protein. It isn’t an approved medicine, and it’s on the WADA prohibited list.

How TB-500 acts in the lab

Thymosin beta-4’s main job is holding on to G-actin, the single building blocks of the cell’s internal scaffolding. By controlling how much actin is free to polymerize, it controls how cells move and change shape.

Cell movement is the first step in repair, which is the link to the wound healing and blood vessel studies. The actin-binding work is done by a short stretch of the chain, LKKTETQ, at positions 17 to 23.

TB-500 research

Goldstein and colleagues reviewed thymosin beta-4’s role in wound repair in 2012, covering faster closure of skin wounds and new blood vessel growth in animal models.

Bock-Marquette and colleagues reported in Nature (2004) that thymosin beta-4 improved heart cell survival after injury in mice.

How TB-500 compares

Labs choosing TB-500 2mg usually weigh it against a few close relatives. TB-500 is the 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein, studied for cell movement and wound repair, while:

  • BPC-157 is the 15-amino-acid repair peptide with the largest body of rodent research
  • KPV is a three-amino-acid alpha-MSH fragment studied for calming inflammation
  • ARA-290 is an 11-amino-acid peptide from erythropoietin that protects tissue without raising red cells
  • GHK-Cu is the copper-binding tripeptide studied for collagen and skin repair

These are the main peptides in repair research. Each covers a different step, from blood vessel growth and cell movement to calming inflammation and rebuilding the skin matrix. See them all on our healing and recovery peptides page.

Lab-tested TB-500 2mg

Our TB-500 2mg batch measured 99.92% pure by HPLC with mass spectrometry confirming the identity. We print the real number, so you know what’s going into your experiment.

Note the batch number on the label when the vial arrives. That’s what the certificate of analysis is filed under, and we’ll send you a copy on request.

Keep the batch number with your records. It’s the quickest way to match a vial to its paperwork later.

TB-500 2mg reconstitution and concentration

Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the liquid you add. With 2mg in this vial:

  • 1mL of water gives 2mg/mL
  • 2mL of water gives 1mg/mL

Pick the volume that keeps your own calculations simple, then write the concentration and the mixing date on the label.

Use sterile bacteriostatic water. Warm the sealed vial to room temperature first so no condensation gets in, add the water slowly along the glass wall, and swirl gently until it’s clear. Never shake it.

TB-500 2mg storage and shelf life

Freeze-dried TB-500 2mg is stable at room temperature for shipping, but for anything longer keep it in a freezer at -20°C, away from light. Once mixed, keep it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C and use it within about four weeks.

A 10-slot vial case keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge shelf a lot easier to manage. For transport, the Blue Sky hard storage box is the sturdier option.

TB-500 sizes compared

  • TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4) 2mg (this page): 2mg for $23.37, about $11.69 per mg
  • TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4) 5mg: 5mg for $51.97, about $10.39 per mg

TB-500 2mg is the smaller option. It’s the one to start with for a pilot run or when you’re testing a new protocol.
