Description
ARA-290 2mg is a 2mg vial of ARA-290, an erythropoietin-derived peptide, supplied by Blue Sky Peptide as freeze-dried powder. This batch tested at 99.2% purity. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.
About ARA-290
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide based on a region of erythropoietin. It activates the tissue-protective receptor without stimulating red blood cell production.
Araim Pharmaceuticals developed it for small fiber neuropathy.
ARA-290 mechanism of action
Erythropoietin (EPO) has two jobs. It drives red blood cell production through one receptor, and it protects tissue through another, a complex of the EPO receptor with CD131.
ARA-290 mimics the small part of EPO that binds the tissue-protective receptor and leaves the red blood cell receptor alone. That lets researchers study EPO’s anti-inflammatory and nerve-protective effects without raising hematocrit.

ARA-290 research
In a phase 2 study, Brines and colleagues reported that ARA-290 improved symptoms and corneal nerve fiber density in patients with sarcoidosis-related small fiber neuropathy.
Animal studies looked at nerve and kidney protection.

ARA-290 compared with similar compounds
ARA-290 2mg is easier to place once you see it next to the compounds it’s usually compared with. ARA-290 is an 11-amino-acid peptide from erythropoietin that protects tissue without raising red cells. The others:
- BPC-157 is the 15-amino-acid repair peptide with the largest body of rodent research
- TB-500 is the 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein, studied for cell movement and wound repair
- KPV is a three-amino-acid alpha-MSH fragment studied for calming inflammation
- GHK-Cu is the copper-binding tripeptide studied for collagen and skin repair
These are the main peptides in repair research. Each covers a different step, from blood vessel growth and cell movement to calming inflammation and rebuilding the skin matrix. See them all on our healing and recovery peptides page.
Reconstituting ARA-290 2mg
The volume of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 2mg:
- 1mL of water gives 2mg/mL
- 2mL of water gives 1mg/mL
Choose the volume that suits your measurements. Mark the vial with the concentration and date so nobody has to guess later.
Bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. Add it slowly so it runs down the side of the vial, then swirl or roll until everything dissolves. Shaking can shear peptide chains. Skip it.
ARA-290 2mg storage and shelf life
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
If you keep several vials going at once, our vial storage case holds ten upright with room for labels, and the hard storage box protects them in a shared freezer or in transit.
Lab-tested ARA-290 2mg
The current batch of ARA-290 2mg tested at 99.2% purity by mass spectrometry and UV (HPLC) analysis. That figure comes from the batch report, not a marketing estimate, and it’s the reason we list the exact number instead of rounding up.
Note the batch number on the label when the vial arrives. That’s what the certificate of analysis is filed under, and we’ll send you a copy on request.
Keep the batch number with your records. It’s the quickest way to match a vial to its paperwork later.

ARA-290 2mg FAQ
How much is in the ARA-290 2mg vial?
2mg of freeze-dried powder. The amount is printed on the label.
Is there a COA for ARA-290 2mg?
Yes. Each batch has a certificate of analysis filed under the batch number on the label. Email us that number and we’ll send it.
What do I mix ARA-290 2mg with?
Sterile bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. The reconstitution section above shows the concentration for each volume.
How should I store it?
Sealed vials keep at room temperature in transit. For storage, use the freezer long term or the fridge for a few weeks. Once mixed, refrigerate and use within about 28 days.
Can ARA-290 be used in people or animals?
No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
