Description
SNAP-8 10mg from Blue Sky Peptide is 10mg of SNAP-8 in a sealed glass vial. SNAP-8 is a cosmetic octapeptide. This batch tested at 99.83% purity. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.
What is SNAP-8?
SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is an eight-amino-acid peptide that extends argireline by two amino acids. Like argireline, it mimics the end of SNAP-25, a protein needed to release acetylcholine at nerve endings.
It’s used in cosmetic research on expression lines.
How SNAP-8 acts in the lab
SNAP-8 works the same way as argireline: it mimics the N-terminal end of SNAP-25 and competes for a spot in the SNARE complex that releases acetylcholine.
The two extra amino acids are meant to make that competition more effective. Less acetylcholine release means weaker muscle contraction in the models used.

SNAP-8 research
The manufacturer reports reduced wrinkle depth in small volunteer studies and stronger activity than argireline in cell assays.

How SNAP-8 compares
SNAP-8 10mg is easier to place once you see it next to the compounds it’s usually compared with. SNAP-8 is an eight-amino-acid cosmetic peptide studied for expression lines. The others:
- GHK-Cu is the copper-binding tripeptide studied for collagen and skin repair
- Melanotan II is a cyclic alpha-MSH analog that drives melanin production
- Glutathione is the cell’s main antioxidant tripeptide
These cover the three main lines of skin research: repair and collagen, expression lines and pigmentation. See them all on our skin and tanning peptides page.
How to reconstitute SNAP-8 10mg
Concentration is the amount in the vial divided by the liquid you add. With 10mg in this vial:
- 1mL of water gives 10mg/mL
- 2mL of water gives 5mg/mL
- 3mL of water gives 3.33mg/mL
Go with whichever number is easiest to work with in your protocol, and label the vial with the concentration and the date you mixed it.
Bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. Add it slowly so it runs down the side of the vial, then swirl or roll until everything dissolves. Shaking can shear peptide chains. Skip it.
SNAP-8 10mg storage and shelf life
Store sealed vials of SNAP-8 10mg in the freezer (-20°C) or the fridge (2 to 8°C), out of direct light. Mixed solution goes back in the fridge and should be used within about 28 days.
If you keep several vials going at once, our vial storage case holds ten upright with room for labels, and the hard storage box protects them in a shared freezer or in transit.
SNAP-8 10mg purity and testing
Our SNAP-8 10mg batch measured 99.83% pure by HPLC with mass spectrometry confirming the identity. We print the real number, so you know what’s going into your experiment.
Every vial is labeled with the compound, the amount and the batch. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, email us the batch number from the label and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for it.
If a result looks off, check the batch number first, then your handling notes. Most problems with SNAP-8 come from storage or mixing, not the material.
