Description
Our Exemestane liquid comes as 30mL of ready-made solution at 25mg/mL, so each bottle holds 750mg of Exemestane, a steroidal aromatase inactivator. This batch tested at 99.78% purity. It’s sold for laboratory research only.
About Exemestane
Exemestane is a steroidal aromatase inactivator from Pfizer, approved as Aromasin. It’s built on the androstenedione skeleton, so aromatase mistakes it for its normal substrate.
Once bound, it’s turned into a reactive form that locks onto the enzyme for good. That’s why it’s called a suicide inhibitor, and it’s the main difference between it and anastrozole or letrozole.
Exemestane mechanism of action
Aromatase converts androgens into estrogens. Exemestane sits in the same pocket the androgen would and gets partly processed by the enzyme, which turns it into an intermediate that binds permanently.
The inactivated enzyme stays switched off until the cell makes new aromatase. Exemestane also has weak androgenic activity of its own, through a metabolite, which the nonsteroidal inhibitors don’t have.

What the research says about Exemestane
The Intergroup Exemestane Study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2004, found that switching to exemestane after two to three years of tamoxifen improved disease-free survival in postmenopausal women with early breast cancer.
The MAP.3 trial (NEJM, 2011) reported fewer invasive breast cancers in high-risk postmenopausal women on exemestane than on placebo.

Exemestane liquid vs related compounds
Labs choosing Exemestane liquid usually weigh it against a few close relatives. Exemestane is a steroidal inhibitor that disables aromatase permanently, while:
- Anastrozole is a reversible nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor
- Letrozole is the most potent of the reversible aromatase inhibitors, also used in fertility research
- Tamoxifen blocks estrogen in breast tissue but acts like it in bone and the uterus
- Clomiphene blocks estrogen feedback in the brain to raise LH and FSH
- Raloxifene acts like estrogen in bone and blocks it in breast and uterine tissue
The first three stop estrogen from being made. The SERMs leave estrogen levels alone and change how the estrogen receptor responds in each tissue. See them all on our SERMs and aromatase inhibitors page.
Measuring Exemestane liquid
The concentration is 25mg/mL, so the math is simple: every 1mL holds 25mg, and every 0.1mL holds 2.5mg. The whole 30mL bottle holds 750mg.
Most labs measure with a 1mL measuring dropper marked in 0.1mL steps. The dropper built into the cap is handy for transfers but not precise enough for measuring.
Storing Exemestane liquid
Store the bottle at room temperature, away from heat and light, with the cap screwed on firmly. There’s no need to refrigerate it.
Exemestane liquid quality and batch records
Purity for this batch of Exemestane liquid came back at 99.78% by HPLC and mass spectrometry. That’s the figure for the batch currently in stock.
The label on each bottle shows the compound, the strength and the batch. Ask us for the certificate of analysis for your batch and we’ll email it over.
Keep the batch number with your records. It’s the quickest way to match a bottle to its paperwork later.

Common questions about Exemestane liquid
How much is in the Exemestane liquid bottle?
30mL of solution at 25mg/mL, which is 750mg in total. The amount is printed on the label.
Is there a COA for Exemestane liquid?
Yes. Each batch has a certificate of analysis filed under the batch number on the label. Email us that number and we’ll send it.
Does Exemestane liquid need mixing?
No. It’s already a solution in a dropper bottle, so there’s no powder to reconstitute.
How should I store it?
At room temperature, out of direct sunlight, with the cap screwed on tight. It doesn’t need a fridge.
Can Exemestane be used in people or animals?
No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
