Description
Our Cagrilintide 5mg vial holds 5mg of lyophilized Cagrilintide, a long-acting amylin analog. This batch tested at 99.37% purity. It’s for in-vitro and lab research only.
Cagrilintide at a glance
Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analog from Novo Nordisk, given weekly. Amylin is a hormone released with insulin that slows stomach emptying and reduces appetite.
It’s being developed with semaglutide as CagriSema.
Cagrilintide mechanism of action
Amylin is released by the pancreas together with insulin. It slows stomach emptying, damps glucagon after meals and signals fullness through the brainstem.
Natural amylin clumps and clears fast. Cagrilintide is changed to stay soluble and carries a fatty acid for albumin binding, which gives it a long half-life. It’s often studied next to GLP-1 compounds because the two act through different pathways.

What the research says about Cagrilintide
Enebo and colleagues reported in The Lancet (2021) that cagrilintide with semaglutide gave more weight loss than either alone.
Phase 3 REDEFINE trials followed.

Cagrilintide 5mg vs related compounds
Cagrilintide 5mg is easier to place once you see it next to the compounds it’s usually compared with. Cagrilintide works through amylin receptors instead of incretins, often studied next to or with semaglutide. The others:
- Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor only and lasts about a week, the most studied compound in the group
- Tirzepatide adds GIP receptor activity to GLP-1, a dual agonist with larger weight effects than semaglutide in trials
- Retatrutide hits GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors, the triple agonist with the biggest phase 2 numbers so far
The main difference between these compounds is which receptors they hit. Pick the one that matches the receptor question in your study, and use the others as comparisons. See them all on our GLP-1 peptides page.
Cagrilintide 5mg quality and batch records
The current batch of Cagrilintide 5mg tested at 99.37% purity by mass spectrometry and UV (HPLC) analysis. That figure comes from the batch report, not a marketing estimate, and it’s the reason we list the exact number instead of rounding up.
The label on each vial shows the compound, the strength and the batch. Ask us for the certificate of analysis for your batch and we’ll email it over.
Write the batch number in your lab notes when you open a new vial. If you ever need to compare results between orders, that’s the detail you’ll want.
How to reconstitute Cagrilintide 5mg
The volume of liquid you add sets the concentration. For a vial holding 5mg:
- 1mL of water gives 5mg/mL
- 2mL of water gives 2.5mg/mL
- 3mL of water gives 1.67mg/mL
Pick the volume that keeps your own calculations simple, then write the concentration and the mixing date on the label.
Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, run the water slowly down the inside of the glass, then roll the vial gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it. Shaking can shear peptide chains.
Cagrilintide 5mg storage and shelf life
The dry powder keeps best cold. A freezer at -20°C is ideal for long-term storage, and a fridge works for a few weeks. After reconstitution, store it in the fridge and finish it within roughly four weeks.
A 10-slot vial case keeps open and sealed vials upright and apart, which makes the fridge shelf a lot easier to manage. For transport, the Blue Sky hard storage box is the sturdier option.

Cagrilintide 5mg FAQ
How much is in the Cagrilintide 5mg vial?
5mg of freeze-dried powder. The amount is printed on the label.
Is there a COA for Cagrilintide 5mg?
Yes. Each batch has a certificate of analysis filed under the batch number on the label. Email us that number and we’ll send it.
What do I mix Cagrilintide 5mg with?
Sterile bacteriostatic water is the usual choice. The reconstitution section above shows the concentration for each volume.
How should I store it?
Sealed vials keep at room temperature in transit. For storage, use the freezer long term or the fridge for a few weeks. Once mixed, refrigerate and use within about 28 days.
Can Cagrilintide be used in people or animals?
No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
